In light of the recent decision by the College Board to cancel Subject Tests, effectively immediately, The Jay Koo Academy will not be offering any SAT Math Subject Test prep courses.

SAT II Classes

SAT II Math classes at The Jay Koo Academy are limited to 18 students. There are 4 sessions for a total of 12 hours class time. In addition, about 5 hours of homework will be required every week. Tuition for the course is $450, including all material (except for the graphing calculator). To reserve a seat, please drop off or mail in this registration form with a check.

A Note about Calculators: A graphing calculator is required for this class. I recommend any versions of Ti-83 or Ti-84, mainly because I have written a bunch of programs designed to save time. Ti-89 is more advanced, but unfortunately, it does not run my programs.

Individual Tutoring for the SAT II

Individual tutoring for the SAT II Math can be especially beneficial when a student’s knowledge base is very different from that of his or her peers. It may also be suitable for students whose extracurricular schedules interfere with regularly scheduled SAT II classes.

If I have not previously worked with a student, I require a consultation session. This helps me understand a student’s needs, convey my expectations, and determine how a student will best benefit from my tutoring.

I usually meet with my students once a week for 110-minute sessions. Students are expected to take practice tests and prepare on their own for 4 or 5 hours each week.

My individual lesson rate is $270 per session. All practice tests and other materials (except for the graphing calculator) are provided.
